One of the challenges facing foreign language learners is how to take your speaker as not the one who just verifies your speaking, evaluates it and focus on looking for potential errors. It seems that such a challenge, such an approach can also be a general one. In fact, we can state that the point is that dealing with such a partner takes place in some tests, for instance some IT component’s new functionality. In such a case that is the role of our receiver - to verify what we provide, what we propose, generally in order to give us a feedback and an input that let us to improve our product.

And while this remains the case to some extent in the communication area, we can say about quality of communication, we can make somebody to pay attention to what is being said and how it is said, and we can do it better or worse, somebody can maintain focused listening for more or just less minutes. Although keeping somebody focused and engaged in the ideas we want to convey is a half the battle when communicating, the fear of getting 'speech quality KPI low value’ shouldn’t be probably seen as the main driver of foreign language learner when he tries to use spoken language. On the other hand an important factor, a requirement may certainly be to gain enough foreign language vocabulary to hold a conversation, to express what we want to say. Learning ’high frequency words’ for example can address such a requirement of ensuring some sensible level of communication.

And here’s the challenge and it sounds as though we’re about to have a more sensible conversation when we focus on learning and using such ’high frequency words’ rather than when we’re still afraid of being perceived as speaking awkwardly and still waiting for some golden opportunity to start to communicate.
